"By Bilbo Baggins" Print
“By Bilbo Baggins” is my final painting from this small series of Hobbit homes. This Hobbit home is particularly iconic— Bag End, the beautiful and cozy home of Bilbo Baggins. If you have read the books or seen the movies (the specific moment I am recalling is from The Fellowship of the Ring when Frodo is recovering from his wound in Rivendell), there is a scene where Bilbo gives Frodo the book that he has been working on for years. The book Bilbo writes (which tells the story we know as The Hobbit) was called “There and Back Again: A Hobbit’s Tale by Bilbo Baggins. I think about this phrase often— “There and Back Again”— and knew when I started painting these Hobbit homes that I wanted the titles of them all to add up to this phrase.
It seems fitting that these paintings are meant to be together and that one’s name isn’t whole without the others. Hobbits are communal creatures. They love each other and support each other and celebrate each other. They eat good food and know how to stop and be present and relax. We can all take some lessons from these hobbits.
These fine art giclee prints are made to order and printed with archival inks on studio watercolor paper. They will look almost identical to an original painting and are a wonderful treasure to add to your home or give as a gift!
Processing time is dependent on the quantity of prints that we have in the works, but typically take 2-3 weeks to arrive from time of purchase.
Please note that frames are not included.
